Ocean-Monmouth County towns get $11.4 million in aid
The Christie Administration is handing out $11.4 million in local aid funding to help municipalities in Ocean and Monmouth counties.
This is part of a statewide outpouring of $78 million in grants to advance street improvement, rehabilitation, and safety projects around New Jersey.
In Ocean County, 22 towns are receiving $4.6 million in aid. In Monmouth, 34 will split $6.8 million.
The money was awarded under the Municipal Aid program, but competition was fierce. Only 57 percent of the 661 applications were honored.
