Officials in the historic Monmouth County community of Ocean Grove is hoping to have its Sandy destroyed boardwalk repaired by July 4th. According to the Newark Star Ledger, Neptune Township has set a March 6th deadline to accept bids to repair the main section of the privately-owned boardwalk.

The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association learned earlier this year that they will finally be able to apply for federal funding after being rejected twice by FEMA. The agency reversed its decision in January after considering its cooperative connection with Neptune Township.

There's even more good news. The Camp Meeting Association is eligible to apply for a Public Assistance Grants, which pays for 90 percent of the cost of storm repairs, because they were rejected for a loan from the U.S. Small Business Association.
