Dana Lancellotti, County Director of Business Development & Tourism recently unveiled the newly launched website oceancountytourism.com and a Facebook page, with the hopes of attracting younger visitors with the website's mobile-friendly applications. "It's completely compatible with mobile devices, whether it's a tablet or iPhone, or whatever it is, it's going to be compatible with our website, " said Lancellotti.

Visitors will be able to navigate the calendar of events and get directions to them. Lancellotti said, "There's actually a map that comes up when you go into Facebook on your mobile. The map comes up where you can search where you are going and things like that."

The County also is focusing on the importance of the military community at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst as tourists Lancellott said, pointing out military personnel and their families live for two or four years at a time. "They come in here and they don't know anything about the area and if you don't tell them you've got things going on here on the east side of the base, they will wander off to the west side of the base. They will go to the Philadelphia area and that is where they will spend their down time." Lancellotti added the County offers military discounts.

Although the County is up to date with its website and Facebook pages, Lancellotti wasn't sure if a mobile app is in the future.
