I’ve never claimed to be a Domestic Goddess.  The truth is that my house is often a mess.  Either I have a high tolerance for disorder or I just don’t notice things, so they don’t really bother me.    Some people can’t tolerate seeing dishes in the sink.  They feel  out of sorts if old newspapers are on the table.   I’m not one of them.  In fact it’s common for me to let the pots and pans sit on the stove or in the sink for a day or two before I wash them.   I’m a bit embarrassed sharing that with you, but admitting the problem is a step towards helping solve it, right?  So here goes.  I’m going to make a concerted effort to keep the kitchen clean.

To get ready for that solstice party I had Monday, I gave the house a good cleaning.  With Bob’s help, the stove got de-greased, the fridge got wiped down, all the mail and newspapers that were on top of the tabletop got trashed, recycled or filed, and every dish, pot, pan, and utensil has been cleaned and put away.   The photo above is proof that the room looks lovely without the clutter, so I’m going to refer to this pic each day for inspiration and movitation to keep it tidy.

Those of you who manage to keep up with your housework, what’s your secret?  What’s a great cleaning tip that someone gave you that you can share with me and the WOBM listeners?
