Heightened security measures at Ocean County College in Toms River have been relaxed, and classes continue, but the social media-driven threat that sparked it remains a question mark this afternoon.

Few details have surfaced. Security Director Robert Kumpf posted a notice on the OCC Facebook page early this afternoon, acknowledging the precautionary detail. That was followed by a subsequent notice issued by the college, that the threat had "abated."

Ocean County Sheriff's officers and Toms River police assisted campus security. Neither county nor township law enforcement has issued comments on the incident, or the status of investigations.
