OCC Names New V.P. of Academic Affairs

Ocean County College announces its new Vice President of Academic Affairs.

College officials say Dr. Jianping Wang brings two decades of progressive executive-level leadership and management experience in Community College Administration. A college press release says Dr. Wang is a Chinese immigrant and a first generation college graduate, who is uniquely qualified to help OCC students who face similar circumstances.

Dr. Wang earned a Bachelor's Degree in English from Hangzhou University and a Master's Degree in English Literature fro Beijing University in China. She also received a Master's in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Doctorate in Education from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California.

Dr. Wang began her Community College Administration career as a Special Assistant to a Community College President where she served as the Division Dean of Arts and Humanities and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Westchester Community College.
