Embattled Lacey Township Schools Superintendent Sandra Brower's contract will not be considered for renewal when it expires in 2016, according to sources in the district.

Brower awaits court proceedings in Monmouth County stemming from an alleged sexual attack on a four-year-old special needs student while she was employed in the Wall Township school system. She has pleaded not guilty to official misconduct, obstruction and hindering apprehension.

Brower maintained her innocence at the Lacey Board of Ed's May meeting, during which she declined to step down from her position, according to Lacey Patch.

Sources in the district tell us that Brower will remain on unpaid suspension, and that any action to be taken will depend on the outcome of her case.
