METUCHEN — A 44-year-old Metuchen woman was indicted by a grand jury Wednesday after allegedly poisoning a victim in late May.

Theresa Freis, 44, was charged in June with attempted murder, aggravated assault as well as drug possession and weapons offenses, NJ Advance Media reported. Prosecutors in Middlesex County say Fries has been accused of giving "clonazepam or a benzodiazepine or benzodiazepines" to the victim on May 25, causing hospitalization, according to the article.

Freis was released on bail, and the victim has recovered, the NJ Advance Media states.
