NJ woman, 61, dies in fire across the street from fire department
BUTLER — Police are investigating a fire that killed a 61-year-old woman and injured her elderly parents.
The fire happened 10:50 p.m. Tuesday on Bartholdi Avenue. The house is located across the street from the Butler Volunteer Fire Department headquarters on Carey Avenue.
Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Neither the woman who was killed nor her parents, 87 and 83 years old, were publicly identified.
