“While over 60,000 private sector jobs have been created since the beginning of this administration, just like on the national level, we aren’t immune to interruptions in growth,” said Charles Steindel, Chief Economist for the New Jersey Department of Treasury.

Total nonfarm wage and salary employment in New Jersey moved lower in March, down by 8,600 jobs, as measured by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics.

A Labor and Workforce Development statement indicated employment contracted in March in seven of ten private sector industry supersectors, while three registered gains.
