TEANECK — A Teaneck man who works as a teacher has been charged with inappropriately touching a 6-year-old girl.

Ronald Kraus, 41, was charged with second-degree sexual assault by sexual contact, and one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The investigation started after the Teaneck Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office got information on Feb. 17 about Kraus inappropriately touching the girl, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Wednesday.

After further investigation and interviews, Kraus was arrested on Wednesday.

Kraus was taken to the Bergen County Jail while awaiting arraignment. He is due in court on Thursday afternoon.

Prosecutors did not reveal which school or school district Kraus works for, or what his relationship is to the girl.
