ELIZABETH — One of the owners of a city massage parlor has been charged with sexually assaulting a client.

German Lopez, 51, was charged with second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact after a customer reported the incident to police.

The woman said she was receiving a massage from Lopez on Saturday at the Bodies and Faces Spa on Elmora Avenue when Lopez "suddenly sexually assaulted her and exposed himself," prosecutors said Tuesday.

Lopez's attorney, Patricia Prezioso, denied the allegations.

“German Lopez has been falsely accused. We look forward to clearing him of these charges,” Prezioso, a partner with Florham Park firm McCusker, Anselmi, Rosen & Carvelli said Tuesday in a statement.

Lopez was being held at Union County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.

The business declined to comment on the charges.
