PARSIPPANY — Just over two months after being found guilty of possession and exhibiting child porn, a former scout leader was sentenced to seven years in prison on Tuesday.

In May, Stephen Corcoran, 49, was found guilty by a Morris County jury on 10 counts of endangering the welfare of a child for having child pornography and one count of exhibiting or showing child pornography to someone else.

Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp said Corcoran was sentenced to five years for the showing of child porn and a total of two years for the endangering the welfare of a child charges, with the sentences running consecutively.

In addition to the child porn charges, Knapp said Corcoran also faces a separate trial for charges of sexually abusing three teenage Boy Scouts in the 1990s. Knapp said jurors in this case were not told about those charges.

Knapp said the investigation into the child pornography charges started in 2011 when a witness — an 18-year-old former scout with whom Corcoran had a sexual relationship — said Corcoran had shown him child porn.  Police found a thumb drive containing pictures and videos at his home.
