Are you "heart Healthy" going into the new year?

Are you a member of the 3%? When it comes to heart health, that’s how many of us get a perfect score, according to a new report from the American Heart Association. Almost everyone else has room for improvement because they have high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes; they are overweight, underweight or obese; they smoke; they don’t get at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes of vigorous physical activity a week; or they don’t eat five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day. The risk of cardiovascular disease is also linked to location – people living in western and New England states reported better heart health, researchers say. The study also found the percentage of the population reporting ideal cardiovascular health defined as having optimal levels of all seven risk factors was lowest in Oklahoma, West Virginia and Mississippi and highest in Washington, D.C., Vermont and Virginia.

So are you getting ready with a new "healthy" plan for 2013 ?
