Newark man charged with DUI in Seaside Heights bicycle accident

A Newark man has been charged with driving under the influence, following a hit-and-run accident involving a 13-year-old bicyclist in Seaside Heights Saturday night, according to authorities.

Seaside Heights Detective Steve Korman said the boy sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene, near Blaine and Ocean Terrace.

26-year-old DeVonne Ramsey was stopped by police in Lavallette on Route 35 North, after a witness of the hit-and-run followed his vehicle while speaking with dispatchers.

Ramsey also was charged with failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident and careless driving.
