Fans welcome home the NY Giants at MetLife Stadium Monday afternoon

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be on hand at the Meadowlands for a rally to celebrate the Giants’ victory in the Super Bowl.

 

The rally is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Met Life stadium on Tuesday, following a ticker tape parade through Lower Manhattan’s “Canyon of Heroes.”

Parking and admission is free for the NJ event. Tailgating is permitted.

According to the Giants website, Parking Lots F and G will be open to the public beginning at 11 a.m. and the stadium gates will open three hours later. The celebration on the MetLife Stadium field is expected to run from 3-3:30 p.m. Concession stands will be open.

New York’s parade will start at Battery Place and Washington Street at 11 a.m. and continue up the “Canyon of Heroes” to Worth Street, followed by a ceremony at City Hall Plaza, in which the mayor will present the Giants with the Keys to the City.


 

The City conducted a public giveaway for tickets to the City Hall Plaza ceremony on Monday between 9  and 11 a.m.

Gov. Chris Christie has offered several times to host a celebration for the “New Jersey Giants” should they win the Super Bowl.

PATH will provide additional midday service to the World Trade Center on Tuesday to accommodate fans attending the ticker-tape parade for the Super Bowl Champion Giants, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on lower Broadway.

PATH will extend morning rush-hour service on the Newark-to-World Trade Center and Hoboken-to-World Trade Center routes from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On the Newark-to-World Trade Center route, trains will run approximately every 5 minutes during the midday period, compared to every 15 minutes during a normal schedule. On the Hoboken-to-World Trade Center route, trains will run every 6 minutes during the midday period, compared to every 12 minutes during a normal schedule.

Additional Port Authority Police and PATH customer service personnel will be in PATH stations and at the World Trade Center Station to assist passengers.
