New York man injured after being hit by car in Egg Harbor Sunday

A Bronx, New York resident remains hospitalized in serious condition after being hit by a car Sunday night around 11:15 pm on the Black Horse Pike near Fox Place in the West Atlantic City section of Egg Harbor Township.

Police say 56-year old Farooq Azad was walking near fox place when a 2006 Mercury Milan driven by 18-year old Maria Fotiou who was heading east at the time hit him.

Azad was tended to by medical personnel at the scene before being transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus trauma Center with serious injuries.

The crash is still under investigation by Officer Robert Moran of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
