Smoking bans on New Jersey beaches has been in the news a lot this Spring. Four beaches imposing a smoking ban, in a recent nj.com article, this Summer include Wildwood, North Wildwood, Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park. Some are highly in favor of the ban and some are opposed. I feel it will help keep the “butts” off the beach, which is the number one litter problem on area beaches. So I’m giving it a thumbs up, let’s keep the beaches clean. Just have nice designated areas for smokers with seating and places to dispose of butts….this way smokers can enjoy beach too. I think that’s a fair trade.
