Forecasters say there's a chance for showers or thunderstorms as New Jersey tries to dry out from more heavy rain that's causing flooding in parts of the state.

The last round of rain moved out early Tuesday morning as most flooded subsided on roadways that were covered in water. Route 71 in Deal remains closed between Roseld Ave/Richmond Ave and Roosevelt Ave south of Brighton Avenue as does Ocean Avenue at 5th Street in Belmar as flooding persists.

A flood warning for small streams remains in effect until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in northern Ocean County. The Toms River in Toms River remains above flood  stage and is expected to continue to slowly rise through the morning. Another flood warning is in effect until 8:30 a.m. in Hunterdon & Somerset counties for the north branch of the Raritan River still at flood stage but falling.

There's minor flooding in Eastampton along the north branch of Rancocas Creek in Pemberton in Burlington County. The river is expected to rise slightly above flood stage.
The flood warning has been cancelled for small streams in Monmouth County, where the threat of widespread flooding has diminished.

The Garden State Parkway northbound was backed up for at least 10 miles yesterday with standing water left by first round of heavy rain flooded out the right lane through the work zone between Brick and exit #98 in Wall. Local roads picked up extra traffic trying to get around the Parkway.

A Tornado Warning for south Jersey expired at 10 p.m. on Monday night with no development in New Jersey. However, a fire official in Howard County, west of Baltimore, reports high winds destroyed a building and detached garage were destroyed.

The News Journal in Wilmington, Delaware reports that homes in Newark and Glasgow, have been damaged and numerous trees downed by the storm system.

More heavy rain is on the way for Thursday that could bring yet another period of heavy rain.

Monday's rain followed a soaking from remnants of Tropical Storm Andrea on Friday.
