A Neptune man who was hit by a car while walking along Route 36 near Middle Road in Hazlet Monday morning has passed away, announced Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.

Prosecutors say 54-year old Robert Pisano was walking in the area of State Highway 36 just east of Middle Road in Hazlet around 2:24 a.m. Monday, when he was struck by a 2008 Dodge Avenger, driven by John F. Hermans, of Yonkers, New York.

Hermans was uninjured in the collision which remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, and Hazlet Police Department.

The crash scene was assisted by the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).
