Nearly A Dozen Snared in Massive Lakewood Drug Raid

Heroin and cocaine are confiscated, and nearly a dozen arrestees are rounded up, in warrant searches this afternoon at two Lakewood apartments.

The raids on Martin Luther King Drive were carried out by members of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Special Operations Unit, SWAT and K-9 teams and detectives from Lakewood and Brick Townships.

Captain Jack Sramaty of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office says that the action stems from a month-long probe of drug activity in northern Ocean County.

The arrestees' identities and charges are being compiled while they're sorted out at the Ocean County Jail in Toms River.
