We've had cancer in our family and unfortunately I've lost wonderful family members from this horrible disease.  But this is the first time breast cancer came into our lives so close to home.

Mom is a true survivor.  In June she found a lump on the outside of her breast. It was very hard, but on the outside.

She went to her doctor and he told her he wasn't quite sure but he didn't think it looked like anything to be worried about, but he wanted her to get a mammogram.  She did and they found she had cancer in her left breast.

Iif you've been through cancer you know what's next: tests, tests, and more tests.  Don't get me wrong, they're hard and annoying, but it's something that has to be done.

After all the tests, thank goodness it was contained to her left breast and a couple of lymph nodes.

Thankfully, wiith surgery she is cancer-free, which led to where we are today.

She had a mastectomy, her left breast, radiation for 22 weeks and a chemotherapy medication.  She's doing fantastic thank goodness, but to go through this at 76 or 33 or 40 or 22, I've seen the pain and the sickness and the tiredness that comes with it.  You are the true heroes!  My Mom is my hero!

She's amazing and I'm so thankful she's a huge part of my life and still here with us today with her smile and love!
