A couple weeks ago I asked you what your favorite time of year at the Jersey shore is (if you haven't voted yet, feel free to!). For me, it's without a doubt Spring. Or, if I'm being even more specific, baseball season.

I've mentioned before that I'm a lifelong Milwaukee Brewers fan, but even though the Lakewood Blueclaws are a Philadelphia Phillies affiliate, I have no problem rooting for the home team (hey, they don't compete against any Brewers teams, so I don't feel disloyal).

For me, the opening of baseball season is a sign of great things to come; warm weather, going out with friends, spending more time outdoors, and the sun staying out later. There are few things I enjoy more on a nice mild evening than sitting at the ballpark with friends.

And honestly, how lucky are we to have a Minor League team so close? If you're a sports fan, or just looking for something to do with the family, you don't have to drag everyone out to New York or Philly to see a game, you can hop in the car, drive a half an hour or less from most of Ocean County, and not spend a fortune on a great couple hours of entertainment.

So here's to Spring, baseball season, and another great season with the Blueclaws! And don't forget, Townsquare Media is the official broadcast partner of the Lakewood Blueclaws.

So what's your favorite sign of the season in Ocean County? Feel free to leave a comment below!
