New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission offices will stay open an extra hour on Saturday thanks to a computer glitch that kept the agency's computers offline for most of Friday.

"All 39 motor vehicle agencies will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., to serve customers," says the agency on their official website. The MVC was hardest hit by an alarm that caused most state websites early Friday morning to shut down.

While the sites were restored by late morning, technical issues left the MVC  unable to process customer transactions in person until the offices closed at 5:30 p.m.

“We realize that a lot of customers were inconvenienced,” commission spokeswoman Elyse Coffey told the Bergen Record. She said extra staff will also be on hand Monday as well.
