Multiple-car crash shutters Route 9 in Toms River
A crash involving several vehicles leaves Route 9 in Toms River closed entirely at the intersection of Cox Cro Road, according to township police.

Detours are expected to stay in place until about 4:30 PM. Ocean County Sheriff Mike Mastronardy says that the crash is affecting traffic on nearby Whitesville Road. New Hampshire Avenue is another nearby local alternate.
Police did not add details regarding the time the crash occurred, the number of vehicles, drivers and passengers involved or the extent of any injuries.
