The National Weather Service has issued an updated briefing on the snow and posted an accumulation map calling for:

  • 8-10 inches in Mercer and Hunterton counties along the Delaware River and in northwest New Jersey
  • 6-8 inches along Interstate 195 and north where the heaviest bands of snow set up
  • 4-6 inches south of I-195
  • 2-4 inches in Cape May County

A tenth-of-an-inch accumulation of ice is expected as freezing rain and sleet falls south of I-195

Winds will gust to 40 MPH near the Atlantic coast which could lead to minor tidal flooding on Monday morning. Following the storm cold air will stay in place over New Jersey keeping temperatures below normal for the first part of the week.

ABC meteorologist Justin Ryan says the storm has been a difficult one to predict. "The trend for this storm has been a southern trend. That would lead to a colder and snowier solution especially for central and south jersey if this verifies," explains Ryan. "We'll have to keep close tabs on the proximity to the coast. There could be some mixing from Cape May to Ocean County on the immediate shoreline which could hamper accumulation."
