Mt. Holly woman held in connection with partner’s gunshot death

A woman in Mount Holly is found dead in her house, shot in the face, and her significant other is accused of pulling the trigger.

Burlington County investigators are poring over details to find a motive that led to charges against Laura Bluestein, 28, in connection with the August 6 death of Felicia Dormans, 29.

Bluestein is being arraigned today on counts of murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and evidence tampering, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Mount Holly PD Chief Thomas Mastrangelo.

Officers ventured to the Mill Street house when a relative of Bluestein reported the possibility of an assault, authorities said.

Dormans was pronounced dead at the scene. Bluestein surrendered without incident and told investigators that she and Dormans were married, authorities said.

They did not elaborate on the nature of the evidence-tampering charge, saying only that she "attempted to conceal" her involvement.

Detective Michael Reagan of the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office leads the probe, assisted by the Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units and Mount Holly police.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
