Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Brick Township Crash

A Brick Township man suffered internal injuries and a broken arm after being thrown from his motorcycle Sunday night, according to authorities.

Brick Township police said 46-year-old Robert N. Sottos crossed a solid double-yellow line on Herbertsville Road while attempting to pass two vehicles ahead of him around 8:30 p.m.. Sottos ended up crashing into the back of one of the vehicles making a left turn onto Flagg Road.

Authorities say Sottos was thrown from his Harley Davidson and landed near a utility pole at the intersection.

The Brick Township Police Department’s Emergency Medical Services and Brick Township Volunteer First Aid, along with MONOC Paramedics responded to the scene.

Sottos was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

Traffic was detoured around the accident scene for about two and a half hours.
