Fishing, swimming, hiking, camping, friendship and citizenship...all part of everyday life at Quail Hill Summer Day Camp, says the Monmouth County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. They're inviting families to take a close look during any one of three upcoming open houses.

Tours of the Quail Hill Reservation in Manalapan take place April 13, May 19 and June 9. Visitors can see the Locust Hill Nature Trail, Kiely Pond ("best fishin' hole ever,") and the BB and archery ranges.

District Commissioner Linda Ann Horvath says that the camp has operated annually for 40 years. The activity-based learning programs start July 8 and end August 16, 9  AM through 4:30 PM daily. Campers should bring lunch, but save some appetite for the Friday family fun nights that feature a barbecue and campfire. Bus transportation is available for a small fee.
