Officials at the Monmouth County Correctional Facility are lifting its 48 hour lock down Wednesday morning. Spokeswoman Cynthia Scott says the Freehold facility will lift the restrictions at 8 o'clock following the re-examination of all the inmates for Chicken Pox.

Scott says there are no new reported cases and no other inmates are showing symptoms after two of them contracted the common and very contagious childhood illness. Those two inmates are being treated in isolation.

As a result of the lock down, inmate transport was halted. Some inmates were able to make court appearances via video conferencing.

According to the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office web site, the Correctional Institution (MCCI) has an occupancy rating of 1,328 inmates. It is among the top ten largest Correctional facilities in the nation.
