The Ocean County Medical Examiner rules the death of a Jackson man found dead inside his burned mobile home, a suicide. Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Spokesman Captain Jack Sramaty said it was determined that 68-year-old William Slezak took his own life using a handgun that was found at the scene.

Slezak's body was discovered inside the burned ruins of his mobile home on Christmas Day. Officials say the blaze was so intense that first responders were unable to gain entry into the Larisa Lane residence until the fire was extinguished.

Sramaty also said that the New Jersey State Police Arson/Bomb Squad assisted in the search of the residence as a precaution because they weren't sure if an object found at the scene was an incendiary device. Sramatry confirmed that no explosive devices were found at the scene.

Assisting in this on-going investigation are members of the Jackson Township Police Department, Ocean county Prosecutor's Office Arson Unit, Ocean County Sheriffs Department K-9 Unit, Ocean County Sheriffs Department C.I.U, the New Jersey State Police Arson/Bomb Squad, Ocean County Fire Marshals Office and Jackson Township Bureau of Fire Prevention.
