GLASSBORO — The search continues for a 14-year-old girl who disappeared from a Gloucester County friend's home last week. Police believe she willingly left because she didn't want to return to her home in Trinidad.

Police say Sikose Joseph left the Williams Street residence in Glassboro at about 11 p.m. after packing her belongings into a dark-colored backpack and an oversized pink purse. According to the Gloucester Police Department, Joseph left her passport behind, but took with her a "significant sum of cash."

She doesn't have a cell phone, police say, and is not active on any social media accounts. Authorities don't know where she might have been headed and police said in a statement that the teen doesn't have any close friends who live in the area. She has family members in the Newark and New Brunswick area, and police have instructed them to look for her in case she decides to head to those areas.

Joseph is described as being a black female. She is 4 feet, 6 inches tall and about 150 pounds, according to police. She was last seen wearing dark pants and a light-colored shirt. She may be carrying the large, pink purse and dark-colored backpack.

Investigators from the Gloucester Police Department viewed local surveillance video that shows Joseph walking north on Main Street from High Street, across the street from Angelo's Diner in Glassboro, at about 11:02 p.m. on Oct. 2.

Police are asking anyone who may have information on Joseph's whereabouts or who may have seen someone matching her description to call 856-881-1500 or dial 911. Anonymous tips can be sent by texting "GLASSPD" and your tip to 847411 (tip411).
