Kara Alongi gained hundreds of followers after asking people on Twitter to call 911 Sunday. People re-tweeted her message and the hashtag “#helpfindkara” trended on the social network.

Police Chief Alan Scherb tells The Star-Ledger of Newark there was no sign of foul play in the 16-year-old’s Clark home.

Scherb says the girl remains missing and should call police.
