Romeo Anwon Worthy, 29, was apprehended in Toms River Tuesday night without incident, according to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Registrants who relocate are required to notify police in the towns they leave and those to which they move. Failure is a third-degree offense, with a possible prison term and $35,000 fine. Those who don't relocate are required to periodically re-register with local police.

Investigators looking for Worthy went to his registered address and learned that he had "absconded," in the Prosecutor's Office vernacular.

Worthy's bail in Ocean County Court was set at $35,000, with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.

County investigators seek information relevant to the case. Detective John Argento can be reached at 732-929-2027, extension 2903.
