Missing Clark Girl Kara Alongi Found Safe
Clark Police say they have found missing Clark teen Kara Alongi "safe and unharmed."
New Jersey State Police say Kara called them from a Turnpike rest area, and that's where they picked her up. She was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation and reunited with her family last night. A detective from the Clark Police Department also responded to the hospital as a standard part of a missing juvenile investigation. She was then taken to a hospital closer to home.

Clark Police say their investigation into just what happened to Alongi between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday is still active.
Kara tweeted that an intruder had entered her home, setting off a firestorm of concern. Clark Police say she sent that message while waiting for a train to New York at the Rahway station.
Statement from Clark Mayor Sal Bonaccorso:
"I would like to thanks Chief Alan Scherb and all the members of the Clark Police Department, the New Jersey State Police and all the other agencies in New Jersey for the concern and help over the past several days. I am especially happy that the Alongi family has been reunited with their daughter, and I ask all citizens of Clark and members of the media to respect their privacy in the upcoming days and weeks."
