Harold "Keith" Lindsay's family grew concerned in light of the possible onset of Alzheimer's Disease, and reached Lacey Township police.

Lacey Police Chief Michael C. DiBella said Lindsay left his daughter's home in the Forked River section of the Township shortly after 4:30 PM, in a  white, 2004 Honda Civic.

Authorities did not elaborate regarding exactly where in the borough Lindsay was found, and indicated only that it was in the "early hours" of August 31, acknowledging that a great number of people contacted them in an effort to help.
