Our Warrior of the Week is from Neptune, and we thank her for her service.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Alyssa Puryear is serving aboard the USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55). She graduated from Neptune High School in 2008 and currently serves as an electrician's mate.

Puryear is responsible for the operation of the ship's electrical power generation systems, lighting systems, electrical equipment and electrical appliances.

Her duties include installation, operation, adjustment, routine maintenance, inspection, test and repair of electrical equipment. EM's also are responsible for maintenance and repair of other electronic equipment.

The guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55) transits the Atlantic Ocean in support of exercise Joint Warrior 14-1. Joint Warrior 14-1 is a semiannual, United Kingdom-led training exercise.
