Tyrik Haynes was indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury today for that count along with third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

Haynes has been in the Monmouth County Correctional Facility in Freehold since his arrest, with his bail set at $1,050,000.

It was in the late afternoon of January 17 that Haynes allegedly accosted the 29-year-old victim from Keansburg in the Bed, Bath and Beyond on Route 35, in front of her young child. Authorities say that Middletown police were flooded with 911 calls reporting the attack.

If convicted at trial on the first-degree attempted murder charge, Haynes could be given 10 to 20 years in prison plus fines as high as $200,000.
