State law requires offenders to register with police in their communities either once annually or every 90 days. Police said Hahn hadn't registered but still lives in Toms River.

Sergeant Michael V. Cecchini of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Megan's Law Unit led the investigation with assistance from county Detectives John M. Argento and Adam Hess, and New Jersey Senior Parole Officers Timothy Sullivan, Rodney Nelson and Mark Grausso.

Hahn was remanded to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River pending the posting of $45,000 bail set by county Superior Court Judge Wendel Daniels. In addition to prison time, the charge is punishable by a fine as high as $15,000. Police had no information regarding whether Hahn had retained a lawyer.
