Meet Simba – Shawn & Sue’s Pet of the Week

This little guy wants his forever home!

This happy and silly guy is Simba, a 6 1/2 year old doberman mix that would just love a family to cuddle up with at night and love him for the rest of his life. Simba came to us from our Newark facility after he was turned in by his owner who could no longer care for him. He was a bit confused when he arrived and wondered what on earth he had done to be taken away from his home, but Simba is a strong and resilient boy and quickly learned focus on the future. He began making lots of friends immediately and now, when he spots one of his human friends from across the parking lot, his rearend will begin to sway with delight. Simba is very outgoing and makes friends easily. He smiles from ear to ear just being able to hang out with you and get some attention. He's a big leaner and is very affectionate. Simba is very well behaved and has excellent manners. He walks well on a leash, sits nicely when asked, and is very gentle while taking treats. He enjoys roaming around our exercise yard checking out all the sights and smells, and gets all young and puppyish when it comes to toys. Simba is okay with other dogs but tends to be a bit dominant with them. He will need a home with no cats but loves people of all ages and would bring joy to any lucky family that welcomes Simba into their hearts and home.
