Our Pet of the Week Velvet is wanting a forever home!

Our darling girl Velvet is probably wondering how long it will take for someone to notice her and offer her a great home. We hope it doesn't take too long, because this lovely lady sure deserves to be all snuggled up on a nice, cozy bed in front of a fireplace surrounded by a family that loves her. Please don't think that Velvet is some tough looking pittie and someone to be afraid of.....obviously the people that chopped up her ears wanted her to look that way, but Velvet is far from tough, she's actually a giant mush. Velvet is about 4 years old and came to us from our Newark facility after she was removed from a home where there were illegal activities taking place. Velvet was one of 7 dogs removed and all of the dogs were in good shape and not abused or used for fighting or anything of the sort. Velvet is so gentle and loving and she just loves making new friends. She is a little high strung in her kennel but that is not at all indicative of her personality. You must meet her outside to see how sweet she is. All you have to do is give her some attention and her rear-end wiggles with delight. She is very well behaved and walks well on a leash. She is gentle taking treats and has little interest in toys. Velvet lived peacefully with 6 other dogs, all around her size. She would make a wonderful addition to any loving family that will spoil her silly and love her forever.
