Threatening a 23-year old woman and forcing her into prostitution lands a Massachusetts man in a New Jersey state prison for a decade on charges including human trafficking.

39-year old Galen Spriggs plead guilty on November 15 he brought the woman from Boston to Atlantic City under threats of physical harm and forcing her into prostitution.

The investigation heated up this summer when the Atlantic City Police Department got in touch with the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force about allegations of human trafficking on July 24.

The FBI/CETF, which is comprised of law enforcement officers from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department and the NJ Human Services Police Department initiated a cooperative investigation that resulted in the arrests of three individuals all together.

Spriggs is joined by fellow Revere, Massachusetts residents Jovana Jensen, 37, and Laraza White, 24, who are each charged with one count of first degree Human Trafficking and one count of third degree Promoting Prostitution.

They were transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility and remanded pending a detention hearing.

The victim was recovered and received services from the Dream Catcher Program.
