A Keansburg man is in hot water after allegedly phoning in a threat to 9-1-1.

22-year-old Robert Malinowski was charged with making a false public alarm after allegedly telling a Middletown dispatcher Thursday that there was going to be a shooting spree at the Monmouth County Court House in Freehold. While, security was raised around the facility, Investigators traced the call to Malinowski's father's cell phone leading to the son's arrest.

Sheriff Shaun Golden says "We take each and every threat seriously. In the wake of the recent tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, people are even more sensitive. It's our duty to make certain that law enforcement remains on high alert to ensure public safety."

He says Sheriff's officers, detectives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Keansburg and Middletown Police worked to apprehend the suspect.
