Mascot Madness 2017 Semifinals – The Brackets Just Broke!

Much like the college basketball championships playing out right now, it was a round of upsets in Mascot Madness 2017!

Toms River South Indians (1) vs. Lacey Township Lions (8)
Sorry, Lions, but the Indians were the #1 seed for a reason. South handily dispatched Lacey by over 40%.

Winner: Toms River South Indians

Barnegat Bengals (4) vs. Toms River North Mariners (5)
This one was close. Like, really close. But the Bengals held on to the narrowest of leads and will head into the semifinals by a final vote of 54% - 46%.

Winner: Barnegat Bengals

Now, get ready for those upsets!

Toms River East Raiders (3) vs. Brick Township Green Dragons (6)
Last year's champions (and our #3 seed), the Raiders will not be going for a repeat performance. After being literally tied at midweek, and East pulling ahead as we started our weekends, the Green Dragons roared back in the last two days and sent the Raiders to the locker room by a difference of only 33 votes.

Winner: Brick Township Green Dragons

Donovan Catholic Griffins (2) vs. Central Regional Golden Eagles (7)
The Griffins, our #2 seed, made it to Round 2 with a ton of votes, but faded a bit last week. It was close, only a 9% difference, but the Golden Eagles (#7) held their lead all week long and sent our #2 seed to watch from the sidelines.

Winner: Central Regional Golden Eagles
