Marlboro crash kills two
Two people were killed in an early morning car crash in the Morganville section of Marlboro early Saturday morning.
A Honda Accord veered off Tennent Road near Duncan Drive hitting several trees shortly after 1:10 a.m., according to Marlboro Police Captain Fred Reck.
A 20-year-old Manalapan man and an 18-year-old from Marlboro were inside the car and taken to CentraState Medical Center in Freehold where they were pronounced dead. One person was ejected from the car.
The cause of the accident, which only involved the Accord, is still under investigation.
Tennent Road acts as a short cut between Route 9 and Route 18 and is both wooded and residential. Reck says the accident happened in a wooded area just shy of several houses.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
