Drug suspects from Brick Township and Point Pleasant face a raft of charges related to almost five pounds of marijuana and a stash of psilocybin mushrooms.

Trupal Patel, 28, and Michael Post, 29, of Truman Drive in Brick, were apprehended Monday along with Tracy Brosnan, 29, of Rodgers Road in Point Pleasant, following warrant searches of their dwellings by police from both municipalities along with Ocean County investigators.

Detectives obtained warrants after a lengthy probe of marijuana distribution, which is continuing to determine the extent of profit stemming from it.

Police said they found 4.6 pounds of marijuana and more than an ounce of mushrooms, plus about $61,000 cash.

Patel and Brosnan are charged with of possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana; possession with intent to distribute more than one ounce of marijuana; possession of, and possession with intent to distribute, more than one ounce of psilocybin mushrooms; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Patel's bail was set at $150,000, Brosnan's at $30,000, in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River.

Post was released on a summons to await court hearings on charges of possession of 50 grams or less of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of a street sign.
