A Maple Shade mom and her young son are found stabbed to death inside their apartment, and a search for the killer presses forward.

The bodies of Sasikala Narra, 38, and Anish Narra, 6, were found by her husband, according information from Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Maple Shade PD Chief Garry C. Gubbei. The deaths are being pursued as homicides.

Authorities said that the victim's husband summoned local police to the Fox Meadow apartment complex on Hamilton Road at about 9 PM Thursday.

The mother and youngster were stabbed multiple times, according to preliminary findings. Autopsies are being conducted today by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.

The Prosecutor's Office contradicted early media reports indicating a possible hate crime, drawing no bias connection to the victims' Indian origins.

The Prosecutor's Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units and Maple Shade  police officers lead the investigation.
