Manchester Woman Suffers Facial Injuries in Friday Car Crash
A Manchester woman suffers serious facial injuries following a one-vehicle crash on Northampton Boulevard early Friday morning.
Police say Katherin Lewis was unbelted when her SUV left the roadway and onto a front lawn where she slammed into a tree and lost conciousness in the township's Pine Lake Park section at around 5:37 a.m.
Paramedics treated her at the scene but weather conditions prevented a medivac airlift to the hospital. Lewis was transported via ground to the Jersey Shore University Medical center where she's listed in stable condition.
Police say an preliminary investigation shows that seatbelt use would have prevented her serious facial injuries. However, the investigation is ongoing by Ptl. Tom O'Hare of the Manchester Traffic Safety Division.
