Manchester Woman Charged with Auto Insurance Fraud

A Manchester 25-year-old is charged with insurance fraud, accused of lying on a claim to skin the company for more than $1,000.

Porsche Daniels was apprehended at her place of work in Edison last Friday, says Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato, and released on $7,500 bail in the county's Superior Court.

Investigators contend that her October 20 claim to Geico indicated damage to her 2011 Nissan Sentra after it hit a guardrail on the Garden State Parkway in Lakewood.

However, they say, there were at least five "fictitious, fraudlent or misleading" statements, and that the money was sought for repairs that were never done.

If found guilty at trial, Daniels risks five to 10 years in state prison.
