A Manchester 18-year-old fails to outrun police and is booked in connection with the  Monday-night break-in burglary of a township convenience store.

Gary M. Feiner III of Whiting is accused of stealing $28 worth of Swisher Cigars from Country Farms on Route 530 after breaking the glass front door with a concrete landscaping block.

Multiple surveillance video images show Feiner trying several times to hurl concrete blocks through the door, police said.

On response to the store's burglar alarm at about 8:29 PM, Patrolman Kyle Rickvalsky inspected the door while his partner, Patrolman Michael Steffen, saw Feiner carrying a blue duffel bag and scooting away on a bicycle, police said.

Steffen pursued Feiner through the Crestwood Shopping Center parking area, across Route 530 into the CVS parking lot where the chase ended, police said.

Feiner was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and obstruciton. His bail was set at $7,500.
